"Touch"


The twins were grabby; “touchy-feely” even. And not just with each other – which never failed to attract attention – but with her too, much to her annoyance. Haruhi was too straight-forward, too indifferent, to be embarrassed; which was just as well considering that adding her to their act seemed to make everyone even more excitable.

For all their teasing and touching and near-line-crossing, they knew they shouldn’t really kiss her, in-turn or in-tandem, while in public (she was still he in school, after-all). However, whenever Hikaru pushed her to lay across a desk in an empty classroom – he never locked the door – or Kaoru pulled her into the shadiest corners of the libraries – always teeming with gossipy, bored students – she couldn’t bother to be embarrassed or annoyed. When Kaoru was pressed against her back, one hand in Hikaru’s hair while he kissed her, the other on her waist as he brushed barely-there kisses across her nape, Haruhi couldn’t find any non-encouraging words to say.

Instead she smiled – her natural, feminine smile – and took pleasure in their identical grins of mischief. It was worth an inappropriate grope for an audience, if the reward was fulfillment of what the touching promised.
